Kick-off Event Wednesday, September 15th 2010, 6:30-9 p.m.
MIPA’s new monthly event series kicked-off featuring F. Leon Wilson and his Presentation “Developing the Strategic Mind: The Game of Chess.”
We started the evening by an Introduction to Chess by 2 US national champions kids league from the Detroit City Chess Club led by Mr. Kevin Fite.

During the evening, Dr. Wilson shared how his mastery of chess was the key to his success in his sales and marketing career introducing new products for large corporations such as Mattel, Microsoft and Johnson Controls. He is ranked as World and U.S. Open Chess Championship player and holds a doctorate in consumer behavior. Traveling from Columbus, Ohio, F. Leon Wilson kindly accepted to join us for the evening.
Art The event also exhibited Touching Infinity. This series of paintings is by artist Peter Hill and are inspired by photographs of our planet Earth seen from space.
Peter’s art pictures a dramatic shift in perception by showing reality in a completely new way.
